Unleash Your Visual Genius

In the December holidays, about 30 children attended two runs of our workshop, ‘Unleash Your Visual Genius’, at Agora Co-learning Space. Based on the latest discoveries in vision science, we showed kids how thinking with pictures can help them solve common problems they might face in their daily lives.

After learning the visual strategies, the children applied their knowledge to scenarios such as, how to plan a birthday party, how to make science concepts easy to remember and how to solve a personal problem. These scenarios were tackled through various fun activities, including mini-competitions, treasure hunt, games, individual drawing as well as group drawing.

There was lots of laughter and creative idea generation as the children discovered unexpected ways to solve  problems, develop new ideas, and make learning memorable.

Here are some pictures from the workshop.

Here are what some parents say about our workshop:

“The skills taught to break down the problem statement into little fragments and utilising visual methods to decipher and solve the problems was helpful for my girl. She also shared how it can be utilised in everyday activities and not just academics as well. Thank you, PictureThink!” ~ Juleiha Iqbal

“Visual thinking that is age appropriate and practical! Excellent class for kids to explore a different way to plan and express themselves.” ~ Liu Huei Lyn

“Thinking in pictures is one program my child enjoyed. She learnt techniques to use in everyday life and for school. In particular, my child applied the techniques to help her solve math problem sums. Now, we see a marked improvement in her confidence and maths problem solving ability.” ~ Lim Kah Yen
