Visual Thinking Workshop for Anglican Preschool Services

Picturethink ran “The Back of the Napkin- Solving Problems with Pictures” workshop with the Leadership Team of Anglican Preschool Services (APS) on 6 Apr 2023. 48 members attended the session. To collaborate and communicate effectively, teams benefit from a common language. Visual thinking provides a foundation for a common and natural language since all of us are magnificently visual. At the workshop, we covered the theories behind Visual Thinking, and showed teachers how to use the <6><6> framework for problem-solving and communications.

The programme was well-received by participants, and many provided positive feedback that they enjoyed the programme. While APS educators have used pictures to engage little children in preschool teaching, it was illuminating for them that visual thinking techniques could also be applied to problem-solving and communications in a corporate context.

Here’s some feedback we received from participants after the workshop:

“I learned about the use of visuals to conceptualise and come up with ways to solve our problems.”

“Power of visual thinking – how simple illustrations can reach deep in understanding”

“I want to continue practise using visual thinking and start small.”

“Breakdown the problem into manageable sizes, and tackle one at a time. To believe in the creativity in me to come out with innovative solutions.”
